Stefan Betzelt / Fundador y director general de GlobalLimits
Stefan nació y vive en wiesbaden/Alemania. Ha fundado GlobalLimits en 2012. Ha Ganado toda su experiencia participando en diversas ultra carreras como Marathon des Sables, Les Foulees de la Soie China, Himalayan 100Mile Stage Race, Racing the Planet Namibia and Desert Oman Raid. Ha participado en 20 maratones de ciudad y ha hecho cima en el Kilimanjaro y el monte Aconcagua.
Ha viajado por 70 países y aprendido mucho sobre diferentes culruras. Usa su experiencia para seleccionar emplazamientos y lugares únicos par alas carreras de GlobalLimits.
Stefan ha estado trabajando como Managing Director de instituciones financieras líderes mundiales antes de retirarse en 2004 para empezar con su propia empresa de consultoría financiera.
Chuck Walker, Stockton/USA - Course Director
Chuck was born in the South of the United States, then relocated to the South Pacific, to finally end up in California.
He already was the course director for GlobalLimits Cambodia 2012 and Bhutan 2013 and performed his duties impeccably.
He has been involved with long distance endurance events since the 1997 Eco-Challenge in Australia. After that he began competing in numerous triathlons and over a dozen 7 day stage running events. In addition to entering events as a competitor he has directed / set over half a dozen events in various locations.
In addition to running his own Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy, (Ronin Jiu-Jitsu in Stockton California), he has spent over 26 years as a armed professional and use of force instructor for various organizations and academies.
Chucks work and competing has taken him to every continent and to where he's been exposed to a diverse range of peoples and cultures, giving him a unique perspective and skill set to function as course director for Global Limits.
Jeremy Joslin, MD, Syracuse/USA - Medical Director
Jeremy is a board-certified emergency physician with experience and training in the wide spectrum of prehospital medicine from austere wilderness medical support to urban EMS & Disaster response. As the director of the Wilderness & Expedition Medicine program at the State University of New York, Upstate Medical University, he trains other emergency physicians to provide operational medical support in wilderness & expedition settings while he maintains a research focus in endurance and heat-related illnesses.
He has worked expeditions and events in remote Utah, the Sahara Desert, the Gobi Desert, and the Amazon jungle; and provides ongoing event medical direction for local & national endurance races, as well as other mass-gatherings and events.
Dr Nia Owens, Great Britain - Medical
Nia is currently taking out of emergency medicine training programme to take part in expeditions and follow other interests. She always was a outdoor type of person and is currently preparing for a 2.100 miles Great Pacific Rowing Race from California to Honululu/Hawaii in 2014.
She worked on multiple ultramarathons including managing the medical team for the Junglemarathon 2012 in the Amazon rainforest and was a highly regarded medical at GlobalLImits Bhutan 2013.
She also travelled in the last few month to the Arctic Circle, Brazil, Sahara Desert, Cambodia and Indonesia, all in the name of work.
At the moment Nia is a candidate for both the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Diploma of Mountain Medicine, both to be completed in 2013.
Josh Mularella, DO, Syracuse/USA - Medical
Josh finished his emergency medicine residency in June 2013 and is now undertaking a one year fellowship in wilderness and expedition medicine with a special focus on race medicine.
Prior to medical school Josh was a Navy corpsman for six years, three of which were spent with a Marine Corps infantry unit. During that time he received specialized medical training in cold weather, desert and jungle environments.
When not working in the emergency department or covering adventure races around the world, he keeps himself busy with crossfit, running, hockey and developing apps for iPhone/iPads.
Carole Pipolo, Lajoux/France - Communication, Publication, Marketing
Carole is a teacher of children with disabilities in Geneve.
She was a frequent accompanist in well know trail races such as Tor des Geants, TDS or Verbier St.Bernard. She also had been volunteerring at UTMB and PTL for 4 years. She loves sharing the emotions of the runners and motivate them to reach their goal.
Carole is a passionated skier, biker and also trail runner.
Pepe Santamaria, Burgos/Spain - Volunteer
Sky runner from the late 90's Pepe has taken part in numerous races and ultras all over the world.
Orienteering, running, cycling or flying, there is no way of keeping him at home. Basicly a "mountain animal"
Graduated in Arts and Design, currently runs his own "environmentally-concerned" building company.
Pepe was already a volunteer at GlobalLimits Bhutan 2013.
Serena Burgess, Truro/Great Britain - Volunteer
In addition to emergency medicine training, Serena is currently pursuing the avenues of pre-hospital and wilderness medicine. She harbours a particular interest in exercise physiology and has worked as a medic for ultramarathons around the world, most recently at the 2013 Brazil jungle ultramarathon.
Serena completed two years as a Royal Navy Midshipman at the Royal Naval University Unit at Cardiff and has worked as a doctor alongside both helicopter and land-based Royal Air Force search and rescue teams in the Snowdonia mountain range in North Wales.
Aside from medicine Serena enjoys travel, especially if incorporating her hobbies of kitesurfing, diving and mountain biking.
Manuel Pastor, Burgos/Spain - Volunteer
Manu is born to run!
He is also a passionated bicycle rider.
Having participated in lots of different long-distance and ultra races he is now fascinated by the ultrastage race format.
After completing the two innaugural GlobalLimits events, Cambodia 2012 and Bhutan 2013, which he finish both ranking second overall, he is ready for the challenge of volunteering in Cambodia to offer his help and experience to others attempting to complete this espectacular but very tough race.
His favoured comment about GlobalLimit races: "Its about more than just running at the end of the day."
Hun Socheat, Siem Reap/Cambodia, Logistics and Infrastructure
Socheat has got 10 year experiences working for two of the leading international travel companies in South East Asia. He has extensively traveled in the region including Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar and Singapore. His last positions were Office Supervisor and Reservations Manager. Socheat has also been leading many cycling trips in the regions. He has joined Angkor International Bike Racing with his colleagues for many years to raise the fund to support children with HIV/AIDS and landmine victims.
Apart from professional business, Socheat has a long term career with the UN since 1993, the European Union (1996-1998). Socheat has also actively participated in social and community works. More than 5 years, he has volunteered his time to work as Project Manager for Arcadia Associate Inc.,(Seattle base) to support some the International and Local NGOs in Cambodia. Clients served: SILAKA, Church World Service (CWS), American Friend Services in Cambodia (AFSC), Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), PACT, Working Group for Weapon Reduction (WGWR), Youth Resource Development Program (YRDP), Youth For Peace (YFP), Action Conflict Transformation (ACT), Friend Economic Development Association (FEDA).
Socheat has got bachelor of English and Master of Business and Administration.
