Breaking News - Race Report Stage 2 - Albania

After a relaxing evening in the school in the village of Buze, our runners are refresh and ready for to's 30,6km stage. They must run through a scenic valley before heading downhill and up again to the finish line at the village of Peshtan, on the left bank of the Vjosa River.

Unlike the previous year, we camp at the courtyard of Mirela - the head of the village and certified guide in the surrounding area. On top of hosting us, Mirela has prepared fresh tomatoe salads and delicious bean stew for us. Our runners are amazed by Mirela's display of collection of war wreckage found in the surrounding area.

Today, William Mcmillen (UK) had to invest more than yesterday to win the stage by just 44seconds ahead of Gezim and Alfred Gaxhja from Albania.

The female winner today was again Filipa Castela from Portugal making use of her excellent technical running abilities. She was followed by Christina Khinast (Austria) and Teresa Lam (Hong Kong).

Special mention Stefan Kapellen from Germany finished 5th on his birthday.

Tomorrow is the longest stage with 55km guiding the runners through the beautiful Zagoria Valley.
