Breaking News - race Report Stage 5 Sao Tome
From beach to beach - we show our runners the best in the south of São Tomé. We are moving closer to the equator. The second last stage is „just“ 27,7km.
Another scenic route today focus entirely in the south of the island and we also run across the island through local villages, plantations, pasding the famous turtle watching and protected beach of Jale and finishing at the scenic beach of Praia Piscina. Some of our runners already used the opportunity to have a swim in the cristal clear water.
The male winner is again Samuel Castela from Portugal followed by Kimberly Batista from São Tomé and Benjamin Rodgers from The UK. Samuel Castela is still in overall lead ahead of Benjamin Rodgers. Guillaume Taufflieb from France is now in 3rd.
At the lady side Filipa Castela set another impressive pace to win the 5th stage now. Second today was Carolina Silva and Teresa Lam. Filipa Castela has extended her overall lead to 34mins now ahead of Carolina Silva. Teresa Lam made it to the 3rd overall.
Tonight we camp at the beautiful swimming pool beach - Praia Piscina. Our runners now preparing themselves for the last 16,5km final stage tomorrow.
