Race Report Stage 2 - Cambodia 2022

The race to Angkor Wat continues.

How about some Cambodia jungle exploration? First 24km of flat running towards the north before the runners turn into a jungle that hides the magnificent Preah Khan temple complex.

We seems to be lucky with the weather as the sun is mostly hidden by the cloud before showing her face in the afternoon.

Our camp in front of the main facade to this vast temple complex is waiting for the runners. They will be staying under the starry sky in this epic location and prepare for tomorrow‘s long stage.

The male category stays the same: Kurt Dhont from Belgium finished first again. Teresa Lam from Hongkong finished second overall today and ufirst female. UK runner Harri Washington was third overall. Stan Lee was seconded man and Alvaro spürtest and Ruud de Vette jointly in third. Christine Horner from Canada finished the stage in the third position again with big smile on her face.

Special to mention today is Edda Bauer from Germany - she was 13mins faster than her last participation 10years ago.

Special to mention today is Valerie van der Veeken from Belgium finished in an impressive 12th place.

No changes in the overall rankings seeing Kurt Dhont in a comfortable lead, Stan Lee in second and Ruud de Vette in third.

Female leader is still Harri Washington now just 8mons ahead of Teresa Lam and Christine Horner in third.

Tomorrow’s long stage of 62km starts at 6am local time and brings the runners to the Beng Mealea Temple which served as the filming location for the Indiana Jones movie.
