Breaking News - Final Report São Tomé 2022

Through running along beautiful coastlines, walking through untouched jungles, stumbling through rocky paths and passing local villages with smiling locals calling out, “Forza! Forza!”, the runners of the 3rd GlobalLimits São Tomé - The Hemisphere Crossing - a 6-days, 200km challenge from north to south and across the island, finally reach the finish line at the island of Rolas today, and cross the finish line on the Equator.

The weather has been kind to our group and the boat ride to the island of Rolas was smooth. All runners arrived with a smile on their tanned faced.

The male runners had completed hard for podium places. UK runners dominated top places on the podium. Both overall winners from the male and female category are from the country.

Nathan Montague from England is the overall champion in the male category, Dulié Fontes of São Tomé takes the second place. Kinderly Batista, also from São Tomé, takes the third place.

At the lady’s side, Harri Washington (UK) is the winner. Tanja Schönenborn takes the second place in her first GlobalLimits race. Christina Khinast is the third fastest female in the race… her 8th GlobalLimits podium already.

The achievements of all our runners will be recognised tonight at the award ceremony of the beach resort Praia Inhame, in the presence of the Minister of Sport.

We thank you sincerely our local teams, who worked tirelessly to make sure the race ran smoothly and successfully. We also thanks for the support of the minister of Sports, Mr Vinicio Pina and local businesses supporting us with tents (CST telecommunication), locally produced premium water Bom Successo, premium quality coconut oil (Valúdo), and delicious bread and cakes from Padaria Almar in São Tomé city.

GlobalLimits is grateful for all and we hope this race brings all our finishers and supporters beautiful memories of the event and the lush, unique island of São Tomé.

Special thank to Tiziano Pisani of Mucumbli Explorer who have great passion and live of the island.  Without their knowledge, experience and passion for São Tomé, this  race would not be possible.
