Race Report Final Stage - Albania

After 6 days of running adventure through remote Albanian mountains, windy trails, saying hello to goats/sheeps/cows and dancing and having fun with local people in a street festival of Murci Village, 60 strong GlobalLimits Albania - The Hidden Treasure runners finally reach the last stage of the race with a last 14,7 km run from the Village of Murci to the finishing line at the UNESCO World heritage site of Butrint.
The finish line is set at the 2000+ years old Theater of the complex. The runners must cross the Ionian channel by ferry and run a loop circling the magnificent ancient complex.
Danish Frank Johansen is the winner of the male category at the race with Greek runner Argy Papathanasopoulos in second.. Kurt Alderweireldt from Belgium finished 3rd.
In the female category, Swiss runner Leandra Kurtz is the first followed by Christina Khinast from Austria. Cherry Chung from Hongkong finished 3rd.
After touring around Butrint, the runners arrive at a premium resort in in Saranda and enjoy themselves by the Ionian Sea. Tonight they will celebrate their hard work at the hotel with the award ceremony and buffet dinner.
