Race Report Stage 5 - Cambodia 2022

After resting by the flowing river of the Kulen Waterfalls, our runners started the second last stage with a gradual downhill run with refreshing panoramic view of the Siem Reap province. After running through paddy fields, jungles and local villages, they finally arrived at camp 5, a local school. They also climbed up the 45 degree to the Phnom Bol hill to the Ta Aek temple. They are one of the very few visitors of Cambodia to be able to enjoy the spectacular view of Cambodia from this unique view point.

It has been a very warm day and there‘s also pools of water. Despite this tough condition, most of the runners finish the stage with satisfying smiles on their face and they are ready for tomorrow‘s final stage.

The ranking in the male and female category remains the same with Kurt Dhont from Belgium in lead. Stan Lee from Canada keeps his second place followed by Ruud de Vette from the Netherworld. In the female category Harri Washington from the UK with bs the stage 2 mins ahead of Teresa Lam. Harri is now just :2:07mins behind Teresa overall with just 16k to go tomorrow.

Stay tuned for the final stage tomorrow when runners will run through Angkor temples and finish the race inside the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Angkor Wat temple.
