Breaking News - Race Report Stage 1 Albania
The cool air and breath-taking view of the Berat castle energize our runners and they are now ready for the first stage of the 4th GlobalLimits Albania - The Hidden Treasure.
With the well wishes from the Director of Tourism of Berat, our runners are ready to start!
The race started at 0730 local time. William Mcmillen from the UK finished the 38 km in 3:22:57, just one and a half minutes behind the course record. Samual Castela (Portugal) and Stefan Kapellen (Germany) finishes together at second place in 4:12hrs.
In female category, wife of Samuel, Filipa (Portugal) and veteran Christina Khinast (Austria) finishes together as the first female arrivals and ranked number 4 overall. Teresa Lam from Hongkong finished 3rd in 4:47hrs.
It is a hot and sunny day in this part of Albania. Not a easy day but our runners do enjoy the scenery along the way. Last years winner and second ranked Alfred and Gezim Gaxhja struggeled in the heat today but Alfred commended "it is a too nice day to die"
By 4pm, all runners have finished and arrived at the camp. They rest and prepare for tomorrow‘s 30,6km challenge. It‘s shorter but is more technical.
Stay tune!
