Breaking News: Race Report Stage 2 - Sao Tome

The second stage of 30,6km of the GlobalLimits Saõ Tomé - The Hemisphere Crossings, took place today. We leave the wonderful kindergarten at Monte Café and head to the Pousada of Bombaim, hidden in the misty mountains. The race begins with a jog in the lush jungle. After leaving the jungles, our runners passed several villages along the long descent.

The first group if runners just arrived at the finish when it heavily started raining what made the last few kilometers quite challenging for the runners still out.

The 25years old Saõ Tomé runner Ismail Tavarez won this stage again in 2:30hrs just 2mins ahead of Spanish runner and triple GlobalLimits champion Xavi Marina. Another 2 mins behind Julio Pereira from Sao Tome. At the lady‘s side, Veronique Messina remains at the first place while Julia Ramoanov from the Natherlands finishes second and Christina Khinast from Austria finishes third. 
Strong performance today by French Guillaume Taufflieb finishing in 8th.

Ismael Tavarez remains first overall. Second now Xavi Marina 26mins behind followed by Julio Pereira in third just 1min behind.
No changes in the female overall ranking, Vero Messina comfortably leading ahead of Christina Khinast and Julia Romanova.

Tomorrow we starts to head south and will be arriving at the coast.
