Pre race report GlobalLimits Cambodia - The Ancient Khmer Path - 10th Jubilee Race

The 10th GlobalLimits Cambodia - The Ancient Khmer Path represents a decade of endurance running and cultural exploration.

This year, the race brings together runners from 20 countries around the world, promising a celebration of athleticism and cultural heritage.

Half of the runners have been in another GlobalLimits race before - it suggests the enduring appeal of the race. We welcome the return of 2 special runners, who were in the very first edition of the race in 2012 - Derek Kwik from Hong Kong and Gianpietro Marion from Italy.

In addition, we are excited to make new friends who share the same interest from around the world to our race and share our passion in running and cultures. They are going to share the joy and the challenge in running across the untouched Cambodian country and watch stars in the camps in front of ancient Khmer temples.

3 runners, Roland Gyssler from Switzerland, Arun Dogra from Canada and Ingo Siebert from Germany will be receiving the “GlobalLimits Heritage Site Runner” Series Award up completing this challenge. That means they have made at least 620km of running across at least three different GlobalLimits’ race locations including Bhutan, São Tomé or Albania.

Favorites:

Male Favorite: The spotlight shine on Nathan Montague from Great Britain, seeking his third victory after triumphs in GlobalLimits Sri Lanka 2016 and Sao Tomé 2021. Adding to the intrigue, Rafael Bonatto from Brazil promised a thrilling competition for the top spot.

Female Favorite: Is French runner Claire Thevenet, who had done very well in GlobalLimits Bhutan 2023, going to use her local leverage and jump onto the podium? … and of course defending champion Teresa Lam from Hongkong.

But as we mention in every report - we never know who are the running talents hidden in our group and we are expecting an exciting race across the beautiful Cambodian landscape towards the Angkor Wat!

The 10th GlobalLimits Cambodia - The Ancient Khmer Path will start at 0700 (PMT) on 3 December 2023, Sunday.
