Breaking News! Pre-race report Cambodia

The 11th GlobalLimits Cambodia – The Ancient Khmer Path
Celebrating over a decade of endurance running and cultural exploration, the 11th edition of GlobalLimits Cambodia: The Ancient Khmer Path brings runners from across the globe together in a journey of athleticism and heritage.

This year, history will be made as Stan Lee from Canada becomes the first to complete 10 consecutive GlobalLimits Cambodia races. Joining him in celebration are eight fellow veterans he met during last year’s race: Derek Kwik and Teresa Lam from Hong Kong, Nathan Montague from the UK, Dietmar Rosenau and Helmuth Raukuttis from Germany, Theo Lamers from the Netherlands, Christina Khinast from Austria, and Franck Touch, representing Cambodia and France.

This year’s race isn’t just a reunion of old friends; it’s also a time for families to come together and create lasting memories. Theo Lamers is bringing his daughter, Vicky, who is volunteering, while Sarah Kucera from the UK—second-place finisher in Bhutan last year—is running with her daughter, Ginny. The Paschke family from Germany also returns, with Magdalena, Uwe, and Marius running together.

Uwe Paschke may also have another reason to celebrate—he’s set to receive the prestigious GlobalLimits Heritage Site Runner Series Award upon completing Cambodia. He completed already GlobalLimits Bhutan and São Tomé and Príncipe. How will Uwe mark this incredible milestone as he crosses the finish line in Cambodia?

Ones to Watch

  • Male Favorite: All eyes are on Nathan Montague from Great Britain, aiming for his fourth victory following wins in GlobalLimits Sri Lanka 2016, São Tomé 2021, and Cambodia 2023.
  • Female Favorite: Will Teresa Lam from Hong Kong defend her podium position, or will she opt for a more relaxed pace this year? Magdalena Paschke, Christina Khinast and Sarah Kucera are all experienced top ranked runners and  have good chances to top podium places.

As always, surprises await. Hidden talents among this year’s runners could transform the race into a thrilling contest as participants traverse Cambodia’s breathtaking landscapes, culminating at the majestic Angkor Wat.
