Stage 4 started today at the Phajoding Monastery at 3600m altitude. Yesterday evening the runners played a football match against the young monks at the Monastery. As last year, the monks won 3:1.

Stage 4 was  38km, runners ran through the highest peak of the race, 3712m high and they ran up to a monastery at 3400m.  At any rate, the runners had made a total descent of 2900m at this stage.  The Finish point was a local farmhouse in Paro Valley, where the runners stay overnight. 

The fastest runner is again Saudi Arabian Mo Foustok, who finished in 4:54hrs.  The first runner-up at this stage is British runner William McMillan at 5:11hrs, followed by Canadian runner Chris Hum, who finished in 5:36hrs.  The Female stage winner is French runner Isabelle Dufour, at 5:38hrs.  She uses her mountain running experience gained from her home island La Reunion.  Second female was Canadian runner Chloe Onofrychuk, followed by the Hongkong American Marcia Zhou.  

In the overall ranking, Chris Hum overtook American runner Scott Coey and is now in third position. In the female cathegory, Isabelle Dufour is still leading ahead of Chloe Onofrychuk and Marcia Zhou.

Tomorrow is the 5th stage and is the longest stage of the Rrace with a total distance of 53,5km.  The Finishing point is located inside the ruins of the Drukyal Fortress.
