Race Report stage 5 – GlobalLimits Bhutan 2014

Today was the longest stage of the event, 52,7km leading the runners from Paro to the ruins of the Drukyel Dzong.

Warm weather and the long distance required all resources of the runners but finally they all were happy having finished the last serious stage. Runners are in the camp now, relaxing, having dinner and looking forward to the final stage finishing at the spectacular Tiger’s Nest monastery.

Incredible performance today from British runner Megan Davies who finished as 2nd woman and 7th overall. Again Mark Tamminga set the pace from the start on and won his 5thstage now and as in the other stages followed by Pau l Brady and Masanao Kobayashi.

5th stage win also for Britishh diplomat Georgina Ayre followed by Megan Davis and Canadian Christine Horner.
