Cambodia - Race Report Stage 4

Today's 4th stage of 29,7k started late at 8am to give the runners more time to relax after the stressful long stage yesterday.

After a 12k flat section runners were faced with the first real climb of the race. Within 2k they had to gain 300m in altitude before running on the ridge of the Kulen Mountains. The finish today was located at the amazing Kulen Waterfalls.

The stage was won another time by British Jill Hamill in 2:58 hrs ahead of Austrian Johannes Mohr and Australian Femi Coppi. Strong day today by Canadian Stan Lee in his 3rd consecutive race in Cambodia by finishing 7th overall.

No change in the overall ranking, Jill Hamill still in lead in the female category ahead of Femi Coppi and Austrian Christina Khinast. Still in lead in the men ranking is Thomas Watson but Johannes Mohr is now just 17mins behind. Still in 3rd position is Dion Leonard.

All runners used the opportunity to take a bath and swim in the refreshing waterfall. Tonight all participants stay in open huts under mosquito nets listening to the sound of the waterfalls.

Tomorrows 5th stage of 45,1k might be the last chance for the runners to gain some positions in the ranking. Start will be at 6am local time.
