News - Stage 3 - Sri Lanka
A 41,2 km mostly flat course with a finish in Ritigala Ruins after a 1.5 km of climb.
Everybody has finished in good shape, although the weather was very hot.
The stage was won again by the very strong Stephan Vernay, followed by the Sri Lankan Runner Sanath
1st female is again by a very impressive Véronique Messina in 4h12mn (although she ran 1km more because she got lost) - 4th of overall ranking - followed by Clémentine Tanguidé in 4h22mn and Charla Heimer in 5h11mn.
Véronique (36) and Clémentine (30) both live in Cambodia and have already run The Cambodia Race in 2013, where they finished also 1st and 2nd females. They train together in Cambodia, and are very good friend.
Strong performance today by Swiss Daniel Meyes who came from behind and finished 7th overall. Another great day by Marilena Wilkinson from Venezuela who confirmed her 4th overall ranking.
Tomorrow's stage will be 52,9 km, the longest of the week, with a split start – 1st start at 6:15 for the slower 30 runners. 2nd start at 7:45 for the first 22 runners.
