Extension programs:
Samarkand – full day sightseeing in the city
After breakfast, you will meet your English-speaking guide at 9:00 AM at Shohjahon hotel and start
exploring the capital of the Timurid Empire by visiting the great Registan Square with its mosque and
three magnificent madrasas. You will then reach the Bibikhanum mosque built in honor of Timur's
favorite wife. You will walk by wandering through the Siyob market, very popular in the city. Free
time for lunch (lunch is not included) and you will continue your sightseeing tour in the afternoon.
Among the sights of the city, the Gur i-Emir, mausoleum of Amir Timur, is truly remarkable. It was built
in the 15th century in honor of one of the grandsons of the ruler. The Shahi-zinda necropolis with
over 20 mausoleums, is also a must see of the city.
You will end your day by visiting the remains of the Ulug Beg observatory and a paper-making
workshop, both located around Samarkand. The end of the day…

Bukhara – full day walking city tour
Meeting with your English-speaking guide at 9:00 AM at Shahristan hotel. And then, you will start
your full day walking city tour in old city of Bukhara. This unique day in the mysterious city of Bukhara
will start with the visit of beautiful architectural sites. The royal residence named Ark, damaged by
the soldiers of the Soviet army in 1920, the Great Friday Mosque and the Chashma Ayub complex
(museum devoted to the irrigation system) will be part of the day's program. The system of pools,
used for a long time in Bukhara, was destroyed by the Russians when they first arrived, a story that
your guide will tell you in detail. At the end of the day, you will have some free time to stroll around
before going to your hotel.

Day 1. Bukhara – daily walking city tour.

Day 2. Bukhara - visit of the surrounding sites
Meeting with your English-speaking guide at 9:00 AM at Shahristan hotel. And then, you will
start to visit the great necropolis and the summer palace, both located outside of Bukhara.
The latter dates from 1917 and has beautiful interior decorations in plaster and stucco. It
was the residence of the last emir of Bukhara. During the program, you will discover the
Persian miniature painting stall, visit the court, the reception rooms, the rose gardens, the
pond and the harem which is now the museum of traditional embroidery. Then back to the
old city of Bukhara to discover Chor Minor madrassa hidden in old city of Bukhara. Free time
for free lunch and the end of the tour. Time to stroll around the city as you wish.
