Breaking News - Race Report Stage 5 - Peaks of the Balkans

More than 88% completed – with over 11.000m of ascent conquered!

We’re blessed with beautiful weather, and the scenery keeps getting more breathtaking.

Today’s stage may be “just” 28.6 km, but the climbs are relentless. Thankfully, the runners are surrounded by spectacular views along the way.

Again Joel Anderson and Bryan Gensits were battling hard to gain some time for the overall victory. This stage might have been the last chance for Bryan Gensits to overtake Joel Anderson in the overall lead. He tried hard but “just” gained 40sec. Joel is still in overall lead with 20mins ahead of Bryan.

Samuel Castela is still in a comfortable 3rd overall.

No change in the female overall ranking seeing Filipa Castela in lead with 34mins ahead of Erin Drasler/USA and Maaike Ortibus in 3rd another 25mins behind.

Everyone will have plenty of time to rest and recover in preparation for tomorrow. Only one stage left to go!
