Breaking News - Race Report Stage 1 Sao Tome

The first stage of GlobalLimits Saõ Tomé starts today in front of the hospital Augustino Neto with children singing the national anthem. We are privileged to have the Prime Minister and Minister of Sports to welcome us to running in their beautiful country.

The stage is 37,9km passing a beach, farms, local villages and through beautiful lush forests. The finish line is in the mountain village of Monte Cafe, a coffee plantation in the heart of the country.

The winning male is Saõ Tomèan ismael Tavarez, followed by Swiss Peter Osterwalder and third Julio Tavarez also from Sao Tome. Verò Messina from France gave an incredible performance finishing forth overall and the overall female champion. She is followed by Austrian Christina Khinast and 3rd ranked Dutch Julia Romanova.

Tomorrow stage of 30km heading towards the south finishing at the historical Pousada Bombain.
