Breaking News - Race Report Stage 2 - Cambodia
The second stage of 36km started today at 6am to avoid the Cambodian heat. At the last 10 km, the runners run a loop though the jungle surrounding the Preah Khan temple at Vihear Province. The finish line and the camp for the night was set directly in front of gate of the temple ruin.
The Fastest runner again was Vicente Juan Garcia from Spain in 2:58hrs ahead of the second, Belgium runner Kurt Alderweirelt, who finished in 3:29. The first woman was Sally Ford from the Great Britain who set an impressive pace today and finished in 3:39. Third male was again French Guillaume Degouret. Join second females were Clare Mulleneger from the Great Britain and Teresa Lam from Hongkong who finished both 5th overall.
Another good day for British runner Matt Dunn who finished again in the top 10.
No changes in the overall male ranking, seeing Vicente Juan Garcia still in lead ahead of Kurt Alderweirelt and Guillaume Degouret. First woman now is Sally Ford ahead of Clare Mulleneger and Teresa Lam.
On tomorrow's long stage of 62km, runners have to run the first 30km in the jungle before finishing the stage inside the Beng Mealea temple ruin which was once the film set for the Indiana Jones movie.
