Cambodia - Final Stage Report

The final stage of the 4th edition Ancient Khmer Path in Cambodia completed today with an emotional finish inside the World Heritage Site Angkor Wat Temple. In the last 16k, runners first passed the Ta Phrom Temple before entering the Angkor Thom temple at the East Gate. They ran along the Terrace of the Elephants, made a loop around the famous Bayon Temple before leaving the temple complex at the South Gate. In the final kilometer led he runner directly into the Angkor Wat Temple.

The overall female winner is British runner Jill Hamill at an impressive 22:38hrs. She was also the winner of each stage. Second female was Australian Femi Coppi in 26:08hrs and third place went to Christina Khinast from Austria who was also in the podium last year.

The overall male winner was British Thomas Watson in 26:08hrs. He is 32 minutes ahead of the first runner-up Austrian, Johannes Mohr. The third prize went to Dion Leonard from Australia.

Tonight the participants will enjoy the award ceremony at the poolside of the Sokhalay Angkor Villa Resort.
