All extension programs will be organized by our partner organisation Adventure Trekking Club Bhutan.

As per October 2023 Bhutan authorities have increased the daily Sustainable Development Fee("SDF") to USD 100 (from USD 65).

The new day charge does NOT include guide, driver, hotel accommodation, meals, entry fees, visa fee etc. These costs are coming on top of the Royality Fee.

Following please find some proposals for recommended extension programs:

All rates mentioned below are for a 3*** hotel. If you want to stay in the 5*****hotel where all participants stay the final night and the award banquet takes place, an additional fee applies.

ONE NIGHT EXTENSION PROGRAM:

DAY 01: In the morning visit the National Museum (Ta-Dzong). Once the watchtower for the Rimpung Dzong, it was converted into the National Museum in 1968. The Museum stands on a promontory overlooking the Paro valley in all its glory. Visit the Paro Rinpung Dzong. A flagstone path rises gradually from a beautiful wooden bridge with shingle roofing aneabutted by two guardhouses, to the dzong. Today, the Dzong is the seat of the district administration as well as the home for the monastic school. The central tower (Utse) of the Dzong, with the superb woodwork, is one of the most beautiful in the nation. The Dzong was built in 1645 A.D After lunch in local restaurant, drive to Drugyal Dzong about 15km from the main town. Visit this ruin of the Drugyal built in the 1649 and damage by the fire twice. Last fire damage was in 1951 since then this place has been left as ruin. Drugyal means victory, dzong means fortress. This dzong was built o commemorate the victory over the Tibetan civil war in 17th century. Overnight in hotel.

DAY 02: Departure onward your destination.

Price: USD 295 (shared room), single occupancy + USD 45, for group of 3+persons, for smaller groups additional charge applies

TWO NIGHTS EXTENSION PROGRAM:

Visit the National Library where ancient manuscripts are preserved. Visit the Painting School where traditional art is still preserved. Artists are taught to paint Thankas here (sacred Buddhist scroll). Visit the Handicrafts Emporium where one can buy Bhutanese textiles and other arts and crafts. Lunch at a local restaurant in the afternoon visit Buddha Point and drive to Paro for Over night in Hotel in Paro.

DAY 03: In the morning drive to Haa Valley over Chele La at 3,988mtrs. From this pass if weather permits you will view the most beautiful snow caped mountains of the northern Himalaya. Continue your drive to Haa valley of another 24Kilometre from the pass. Visit White Temple built in 659AD and lunch near the Haa River and Continue your drive to visit the small town of Haa. Walk around in the town and continue your drive back to Paro for over night.

DAY 03: After your breakfast drive to Dzongdrakha above Geobjana Village and visit Dzgondrakha Monastery and day hike in an around the local villages and meet with the local Bhutanese People, Lunch with the local Bhutanese People or may drive to the paro town and lunch in the local tourist restaurant, Having Lunch with the local with be an another Experience with the local in Bhutanese way of living and Evening Dinner in the Hotel and Over night in the hotel.
