Breaking News - Race Report Stage 1 - Uzbekistan
After an evening spent in local farmhouses, sharing stories over a feast of the national dish, plov, participants of the second GlobalLimits Uzbekistan – Footsteps of Alexander the Great are ready to stride into this vast and beautiful land.
230 km. Six stages lie ahead.
Stage 1 unfolds across a mix of packed dirt tracks and rugged countryside trails — not overly technical, yet quietly demanding in its persistence. After the first checkpoint, two imposing mountains await, testing the field with a steady climb and rewarding views.
Tonight, we rest beside a lake where animals come to drink at this time of year — a peaceful setting after a long day on the course.
Fun fact: Uzbekistan is one of only two doubly landlocked countries in the world, meaning it is surrounded entirely by other landlocked nations. There’s a real sense of remoteness here — the kind that makes every step feel earned.
