Breaking News: Race Report Stage 3 - Peaks of the Balkans
After departing our warm beds of Guesthouse Kulla, we make our way further in to the deep mountains of the Peaks of the Balkans - we pass through remote Shepard huts and pine forest before a 3,5km ascent to to the finish line in the “sky”. in overlooking the beautiful valley of Dugäive.
The rain makes it extra difficult for the runners with slippery trails. We hope the weather will be better tomorrow.
Tomorrow we will be crossing the border into Montenegro.
Johannes Lehmann from Switzerland remains the first male followed by Michael Traub (USA) and Ronan Mievielle from Ftance.
Today the first two females, Estela Sao Martinho and Filipa Castela, both from Portugal, came in the finish line hand in hand. Janet Dimmer (UK) took the third place today also overtook the 3rd female place overall.
