Breaking News: Race Report Stage 4 - Sao Tomé
The long 58.9km stage follows the southern coastline, featuring São Tomé’s deep, slippery jungles, plantations, river crossings, and local villages. Tonight’s camp is at the renowned Praia Grande - The Big Beach.
Those who pay attention will notice the iconic needle-shaped Pico Cão Grande emerging behind the campsite.
Nearly all runners finished before sunset at 1800. Well done!
Unfortunately the overall leader after the first 3 stages, Bryan Gensits (USA), had to drop out at checkpoint 3 with stomach problems.
