Race Report - Stage 3 - Sao Tomé

Jungle trails, beautiful waterfalls, and happy villagers welcomed the runners to the start of the 3rd stage of GlobalLimits SãoTomé - The Hemisphere Crossing. The 29km stage brings our runners through beautiful valleys, cocoa plantations, and at the end to the seaside village of Aqua Izé near the famous sightseeing spot of Boca d‘Inferno.

São Toméan runner Duliê Fontes won the stage beating Kinderly Batista by just 43seconds. 3rd was today Nathan Montague from the UK 6mins later.  Dulie is now in overall lead with 2min 40secs ahead of Nathan.

Today there’s interesting change of the ranking in the lady’s race. Harri Washington took the first place while Tanja Schönenborn took the second. Christina Khinast took the third place.  Harri overtook the overall lead ahead of Tanja and Christina now in third.

Strong day today by Matthew Miguelena and Amy Sparks, both finishing well ahead of their overall poition.

After the stage, our runners camp in the village of Agua Ize and many went for a dip in the clear water. Hopefully the cool water relaxes their muscles and prepares them for tomorrow’s long stage of 59km. Stay tuned and follow our runners.
