Breaking News - Race Report Stage 5 - São Tomé

After the strenuous long stage and restful night on the „big beach“, Praia Grande, our runners started again this morning passing the picturesque jungle with the „Cão Pico“ -the landmark needle shape peak as backdrop, along the coast, several local villages and plantations, before arriving the finish line next to coconut trees and another beautiful beach, Praia Piscina, where runners can swim and may even have the chance to encounter some baby sea turtles!

The penultimate stage was 29km but the competition kept going. Today Dulie Fontes won the stage before Kinderly Batista and Nathan Montague from the UK. Nathan is still in overall lead ahead of Dulie and Kinderly. Harri Washington showed another strong day winning another stage. Whereas Tanja Schönenborn keeps her second place. Again Maria Rotger from Spain was third but Christina Khinast remained at the third place overall.

Tomorrow is the last stage of the event. Stay tuned for the final result.
