Breking News - Race Report Stage 4 - São Tomé

We quietly farewell our hosting villages this morning - our first group of runners start this stage at 0530am. The long stage is 58,9km long and is heading the runners further South.. Our runners will experience São Tomé’s deep jungles, plantations, ocean boulevards, and local villages.  The weather is expected to be hot and humid. 

The male winner is once again Nathan Montague from UK on an impressive 6:20hrs., followed by local runner Batista in 6:38hrs and Dulie Fontes in 7:28hrs. Overall Nathan overtook the lead again now with a comfortable 57mns ahead of Kinderly.
On the ladies side Harri Washington set the pace and won the stage with in 7:55hrs ahead of German Tanja Schönenborn in 8:33hrs. Fantastic run today by Maria Rotger from Spain finishing third.
Overall Harri Washington is now in lead ahead of Tanja Schönenborn and Austrian Christina Khinast.
Special to mention today is German Sascha Gramm who finally had a strong day and finished 4th overall.

All runners have finished this tough stage.

Tomorrow our group will run across to the southeast of the island and arrive at the famous swimming pool beach - the Praia Piscina, where they will prepare for the final stage of the race. Will they meet some baby turtles?
