Breaking News...Stage 1

After an emotinal starting ceremony in a Buddhist temple all 31 participants started stage 1 for 30,8km.
From the first meter on it was the expected close race between defending champion Salva Calvo from Spain and french Stephane Vernay. Stephane Vernay won the stage in 2hrs 24mins just one minute ahead of Salva Calvo. Australian Shane Rattenbury finished 3rd in 2hrs 33mins.
Running the entire race together were french friends Veronique Messina and Clementine Tanguide and jointly finished first in the women category in 2hrs 54mins.
All runners finished the race in a very good shape and now enjoy the rural life in a local village.
Tomorrows stage 2 is set with 36,4km with a finish in the ancient Preah Khan temple.
